Итоги конференции

The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Science, Technology and Information in Libraries (Libway-2023)” took place on March 20–22 near Novosibirsk.

In just three days of its work, 13 events took place, including five sections, a challenge and two plenary meetings.The events were attended by 208 people from 13 countries in full-time and online format: academics and corresponding members, leaders of the largest libraries, representatives of professional communities, prominent theorists and practices, and scientific employees.

Итоги конференции

During the conference, experts discussed the organization of the work of libraries in modern conditions.For example, the use of artificial intelligence in the management of libraries or the use of certain operating systems in the work.

In addition, the focus of the researchers was improving library catalogs, increasing the activity of libraries in public life - for example, their popularization of scientific achievements.

Итоги конференции

Separate issues of copyright in the work of libraries were discussed.In their studies presented at the conference, scientists analyzed aspects of the creation of manuscript and printed books, followed the fate of the authors and printing houses.Experts discussed issues of book publishing and instilling love for reading in the past and present.At the conference, it was decided to create the Association of Siberian Academic Libraries, it should unite institutions of scientific institutes and other research organizations of the SB RAS.The work of the Association will be conducted on the basis of GPNTB SB RAS.

Libway-2024 will take place next spring.

            On March 20, a transfer will be organized from the place of arrival (Tolmachevo Airport, Railway Station, Novosibirsk-Glavny Bus Stop Platform, etc.) to the conference venue. The participants should specify the time and the place of arrival in Novosibirsk in their personal accounts. We will announce the schedule of the transfer additionally

            For residents:

            On March 21 and 22, a transfer for the participants from Novosibirsk will be organized from the SPSTL SB RAS (Voskhod str., 15) and the SPSTL SB RAS Branch (Akademik Lavrentyev str., 6) to the Park Hotel Hvoya. The transfer from the hotel to the SPSTL SB RAS will be provided after the plenary talks and sessions. We will announce the schedule of the transfer additionally.
